Katalepsy was born in the start of new era (in early 2004), with strong intentions to become an original and recognized band in brutal death metal world. First inspirations have come from bands like: Suffocation, Cannibal Corpse, Nile and Disgorge. After a few local shows in autumn 2004, there was recorded first demo, called “Femicide”. Later, it have been released on 4-way split-CD.

Till year 2006 band played a lot of gigs, intensivly rehearsaled, etc., made some line-up changes (new members have brought more sick influences), and that have made us strong band with our own style-taste We received a lot of good responses and opinions both in local gigs and outside Moscow.

In the end of 2006 Katalepsy entered Z-studio (Navahohut Sound) and started recording of the debut album Musick Brings Injuries, duo some problems last songs was recorded in Zvuk I Golos studio. CD was produced by Cannx, engineered by Arcady Navaho and finally released in the start of 2007, by SoulFlesh Collector records. Album stuff is a slamming brutal death metal in vein of Devourment, Sect of Execration, Malignancy but with its own taste, original grooves and rhythms. This sounds became a trade mark of Katalepsy. Album have gotten great feedback all over the world! After this we played a lot of gigs, supported Suffocation in Moscow show, tour with Jig-Ai, Mucopus, etc. And now we are not only playing on stage, we are making Death metal show, in the way it should be!

In the end of 2007 Katalepsy visited Z-studio (Navahohut Sound) again. There was recorded newest songs for 3-ways split (with Fleshrot & Blunt Force Trauma). This songs is a broadly developed ideas of Musick Brings Injuries, but much more brutal, more sick and perverted. Split CD was put out by 3 labels (Grindethic rec., Pathologically Explicit Rec., SoulFlesh Collector rec.) in may 2008. We've done 2 tours for the support of this release and played at Mountain of Death fest 2008 (Switzerland).

In 2009 band also made a lot of performances during European tour, Far-east tour, Belorussian tour and Central-Russian tour. Played at biggest Death metal open-air in Germany (Death Feast open air)
